Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17/04/2026

LaterRead is available on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. It does not create first-party accounts or embed analytics or ad SDKs.

1. Overview

LaterRead displays HTML that comes from third-party websites. Some of those sites may run their own analytics, for example to count how many times an article has been read. Review each site’s privacy policy for more details.

Sync runs securely through your iCloud account. Apple also manages language model downloads. Apple’s privacy policy applies to any data handled by Apple.

When you save an article, the app sends the URL to the extraction backend, which then queries the source website to retrieve and clean the content. That flow may involve minimal technical metadata such as IP address, network headers, or operational logs handled by the providers involved.

If you reside in the European Union, the processing of your personal data will be governed by Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), together with any other applicable local law. The app is available on iPhone (iOS), iPad (iPadOS), and Mac (macOS).

2. Information We Do Not Collect

3. Local Storage and Security

We store translated articles on your device so you can read them later. That means you must allow the app to access on-device documents. We also download the target language model to the device once from Apple.

LaterRead does not guarantee absolute security, but it aims to follow the security best practices recommended for Apple platforms.

4. Children

LaterRead is not specifically directed to children under 13. The app does not intentionally request personal data from children or design flows specifically for them.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child has shared data through the app or support channels, you can contact LaterRead and request a review of the case to the extent technically possible.

5. Your Rights

Because LaterRead does not create centralized accounts or tracking profiles, you retain control over most of your information directly on your device.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights such as:

To exercise these rights beyond what you can manage from the app or operating system, you can contact LaterRead. If the processing depends on third-party services, such as iCloud or the network infrastructure used by the app, you may also need to contact those providers.

If you are in the European Union, those rights include the ones provided by the GDPR, such as access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection, and data portability. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority in your country of residence.

6. Legal Basis and Scope (GDPR)

When the GDPR applies, the main legal basis for LaterRead to process your data is the need to provide the service you request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR: performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures at the request of the data subject).

When processing depends on an optional user decision or on a third-party service, the applicable legal basis may be consent where required. In those cases, you can withdraw it by stopping use of the affected feature or service.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app, third-party services, or applicable legal requirements.

When a new version is published, the "Last updated" date at the top of this document will be revised. You should review it periodically.
